Steven James Daff Steven is a graduate from the University of California Irvine, where he received a B.A. in Film Studies. He has been independently directing and producing for about five years. Steven attributes any success that he has had to his training (though limited) as an actor, as well as his understanding of teamwork. He feels that the knowledge he has gained from acting allows him to communicate much more effectively with the actors. The training also allows him to break down the script the way an actor would, and to find the details that make most films so interesting. According to Steven, teamwork is the key to any successful film shoot. No one person is too small on the set. He looks at a film set as being a team of highly specialized/trained individuals that work together toward the vision of the director." The director must respect each team member's talent, and not tell that person how to do his/her job, but merely communicate his vision to the team member, thereby shaping that person's creation." This he feels, allows everyone to get thoroughly involved in the creative process, and to feel good about his/her own talent, as well as the director's vision. Including the Green Arrow short, Steven is involved in four upcoming projects, three of them features. He is currently submitting his 28 min. western short Mistaken, to film festivals.
